4* Scottsdale - Mondrian Scottsdale - $40 - May 27. After reading the reviews, I think I would rather have had the Doubletree. But we're arriving late, and departing early on the next day, so it's just a quick place to stay, and for that, it should be just fine.

Was looking for a decent place in Scottsdale to take the family for a few days. Last year we Priceline'd the Scottsdale Resort & Conference Centre (nice place), but thought we would change our bidding pattern this time around.

Added 4* North Scottsdale and bid $60 to take a shot at the Westin and was countered at $77. Re-bid at $65 and received Orange Tree.

We are travelling with a 2 year old so this place looks perfect.

I'm PSYCHED. I saw Bryan's report that the other place going for $40 was pretty good, but I like this location.
Can we actually walk to old town from this hotel? We're from Boston, like to leave the car behind if possible.
I was hoping I could use extend the stay for days later in the week since we'll go north in between but I guess
that doesn't work. Whatever, can't believe the great price.

After looking at other BFT posts, started with $40 and 3* and bid was accepted on first try by Crowne Plaza. Only chose "Metro Center" area because I wanted to stay in this area. Normal Priceline rate was $96/night.

Bid for 2 nights starting at $40 -- accepted on first try. I have gotten this hotel several times for $40-$45 dollars, however there is only one free re-bid zone in Phoenix now for 3* so playing it safe. Bid through A-B link.

There can be lots of free rebids when going for a 4* in Scottsdale b/c there are so many other areas to add to the bidding that don't have a 4*, but I didn't need to use any of them, first bid was the lowest allowable by PL for a 4*, $40, which was accepted. The bid was for 2 rooms for 5 nights Dec. 27, 09 to Jan. 1, 2010. The price on the hotel website for that period was $126 per room.
