There can be lots of free rebids when going for a 4* in Scottsdale b/c there are so many other areas to add to the bidding that don't have a 4*, but I didn't need to use any of them, first bid was the lowest allowable by PL for a 4*, $40, which was accepted. The bid was for 2 rooms for 5 nights Dec. 27, 09 to Jan. 1, 2010. The price on the hotel website for that period was $126 per room.

It was my first bid (I hate it when that happens). Winning bids for Scottsdale 4* at Doubletree were running $40 so I should have started lower. These are lower bids than in years past for this time of year (I stay in Scottsdale resorts often). I usually get Scottsdale Resort and Conf. Center, which is a little lower class than what I got today. This is a very nice hotel at Gainey Ranch Golf club right off Scottsdale Road a few miles north of the big mall. Got this in two parts on first try. I first got four days from the 17th-21st and then used the extend my stay option for the final 3 days. I didn't even try the entire week at one time and maybe that would have worked fine and I wouldn't have to have paid two fees to Priceline. Total with all taxes and fees was $332.85.

not real happy....especially with the added $17.00 nightly resort fee.....do not expect to like this place based on recent reviews.
was kind of hoping for Mondrian which we won last year same time-frame/about the same price....
oh well, at least we're really not planning to eat any meals on the property anyway....the pools might be nice or we'll sneak away elsewhere during free days,...

A few days ago I tried to add a night to a bid I won a couple of months ago and was rejected, however Priceline offered to add a night for $89. I decided to just start a new bid for a 4*. Bid $45, rejected, added Airport, Bid $47 and won the Doubletree again. I know I might have won another hotel but was fortunate in this case. I see others are getting this hotel for $40 lately but I am extremely happy with $47 for late January. Used A-B link.
