First tried Concord-Laf 4* at $50. Added San Ramon at $55. Added 3-1/2* and dropped to $45. Added Hayward at $50 and was accepted. The BFT list hasn't been updated to reflect Crowne Plaza as a 3-1/2* hotel. Given the bad review from last month, I'm glad I won this here and won't be paying full price!

Tried to get the 4* Claremont, but with a budget-conscious mother-in-law, she didn't want to go over $80 with tax. TONS of free re-bids (6 rebids). Started at $55, 60, 62, 64, 67, 70, 73) - no winners.

Bid under my wife's name and credit card for the 3* in Berkeley. Knew there was only one free rebid, so I just bid at the lowest recent price accepted ($56). It was accepted at $56. Next time I'd try a little lower, maybe $48.

Surprisingly got it on the first try! I bid $45 for a 3* in Concord, (usually gets me Courtyard by Marriott in Pleasant Hill), it was accepted and gave me an upgrade to 3 1/2* Hilton Concord. I'm lucky I didn't get upgraded to 3 1/2* Crowne Plaza Concord, it has a lot of bad reviews. Bidding in Concord is getting tricky!
By the way, I bid on the same day I needed the hotel, 12/11 at about 5:30pm.

Again, this hotel is coming up as a 3* and not 2 1/2 * as noted on the hotel list. The latter needs updating as this area now has 3 1/2* hotels as well and I'm not sure what they are.

Wanted a hotel in the Pleasanton / San Ramon area. First started with 3* in Pleasanton at $39 and was countered at $50 (+11). Used Hayward free rebid at $42 and was rejected. Started new bid this time for 3* San Ramon at $42 and won it on first try (might have been able to get it for a couple of dollars less?). Used AB link to make bid.
