Guess the rating status for Crown Plaza has increased from 3* to 3 1/2 * - I really wanted the Hilton,
which have stayed at numerous times - that is why bid on 3 1/2* but won Crown Plaza - so assume
this hotel star level has been increased...

Rejected at $50 but won at $55. Maybe could have bid $52-$53.but for $55 I'm happy. Again, this used to be a 2.5 * property and was recently upgraded. The Hilton Garden Inn (other 3 *) probably won't come into play until one hits the $60-$65 mark- just a guess though. Much prefer that property over the Doubletree but this hotel is more than adequate. Used A-B link.

$55 X 3 nights = $165 + $28.44 taxes/fees = $194.44.

Started at $42, stepped up $1 by adding zones (Concord/Lafayette is the only zone that has 3.5 and 4 star hotels) and won at $46/night.
$46*2 = $92 + $18.86 = $110.86

Please move the Crowne Plaza from 3 * to 3-1/2 * at the link below, it misled me as I wanted to get the Hilton.

Just bid on Emeryville/Berkeley hotel 3 star. Bid won at $55 for Doubletree Hotel & exec. Meeting center - Berkeley Marina. Bidding for travel shows 2 1/2 star, but priceline shows at 3 star. Thought someone might want to change for future bidders so they won't be disappointed like I am.

There are at least 7 or 8 three-star properties in the Dublin/Pleasanton/San Ramon sector on Priceline. In August, I was able to secure the Marriott for $50 so for Thanksgiving week (with the info from other members) I started at $39 and was rejected. Went back in 24 hours later at $43 and got the Hyatt Place in Dublin, which is very convenient to the 580 & 680 freeways. Total for six (6) nights including fees is $298.92
