There's no free re-bids that I saw so I startedwith $50 and got this hotel on my first try. The total came to $63.91 for one night. Used the a-b link!

I started at $45 and was going to go up by $3 per free re-bid. Got it at $48. This is a steal of a price, perhaps because it's the xmas holiday.

Seemed like people were scoring on their first bid, so I decided to start low, beginning at $45 and incrementing by $2 -- with plenty of rebids since Downtown is the only 4-star zone. Got it on the fourth try. Started Downtown 4* at $45 and increased 2 dollars per free rebid. Won on 8th bid @ $59. Hotel is undergoing renovations, but is excellent, and near all downtown attractions.

I was expecting to have to climb higher, so I started at $60. Got it first bid! 3 rooms for two nights (perhaps PL and its clients are clever enough to accept lower prices for multiple room and multi-night bids).

Bid $40 downtown for 3* and was offered a re-bid at $12 more, so probably could have won at around $45. But I'm driving through so I went for cheap instead and following the bids posted here I tried $35 for 3* Airport and won on first bid.

Initially tried cities further south on my route. After a series of bids my final rejected bids were 2.5* in Eugene/Springfield for $45, 3* in Eugene/Springfield for $48, 2.5* Salem for $42, 2* Albany for $40.

Bid for downtown Portland, 3 stars, $42 ($51 per night with tax and fees), accepted on the first try! So you could probably go lower. I know its a nice hotel because I've stayed there before for a few weeks. Its very close to the downtown core and its by the riverfront, with public trolley (free within the downtown area) right outside the door. Free hot breakfast too

Started bidding at $55 and increased $3 each time up to $75 when bid was accepted. Been trying for about 2 weeks, hoping bid would be accepted at a lower price, but no luck. Stayed at the Westin before, happy with result (though I wish it was the Benson!) Used the A-B link.

Started bid at $48 for a 4* DT hotel. Tried to duplicate bidding pattern for the post that got Vintage Plaza. Continued to add areas & small $ increases. Bid for a 4* Portland DT room for 11-10 to 11-11-09 . Started at 50 & worked up using free bids adding areas to 65 (81 with tax). They sold us the Riverplace when we added South Waterfront District! Since when is this a 4* ??? (It's NOT, most of the 3 1/2* hotels in DT are MUCH nicer.) Too bad they don't have a "boutique hotel" catagory. I'd rather get a 3 1/2* if it wasn't a cold corporate atmosphere like Riverplace or Marriott. So be careful about including...
