I've been using the amazing-bargains link starting at $85, going up $3 at a time, using re-bids over a couple of days. I'm thinking the trouble is this
is a holiday weekend (I'm going down there for a wedding). Any advice is welcome! For instance, is it wiser to break the stay up into 2: 7/2-7/4 (Thurs and
Fri nights) and 7/4-7/5 and potentially have to change hotels but get a much lower rate on Thurs and Fri? Or should I suck it up and prepare to pay a lot more?
Or should I just...

Have not checked the rates, but 4th of July is a really tough pull in Coronado (with it being a military town). They have a 4th of July parade down Orange
Avenue every year, and with the 4th falling on a Saturday it will probably be even more well attended than usual.

You might be successful late in the game (economic downturn and all), but if I were a hotel manager I would probably hang on to my rooms looking for a higher
rate on what is normally a very busy weekend.
