Posts: 2401 (06/08/09 11:07 PM) Moderator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	I'm not very familiar with San Diego bidding, but that Hilton Torey Pines rate is very low. Based on that, I'd start bidding at $75. If you want to scroll through and look for earlier successes at this property (if any), you could start your bidding at the lowest level of those bids (I REALLY think this is a low Hilton rate). Are those really all re-bids? I didn't know there even were that many zones in San Diego--I've never bid there.

This may be one of those cases where the hotels are holding out until the last minute, so you don't want to be left roomless.

I think I might have to change locations. I'm hoping someone else will have some luck so I will know what kind of cost I'm looking at. I'll keep trying for a while before I switch but it is getting closer...

Posts: 5 (06/18/09 9:21 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite	I was unable to get anything in San Diego Coastal or Coronado for less than $150 a couple of weeks ago for 7/2-7/5. I ended up adding Downtown, and got the W hotel for $90. Unfortunately, the W has just filed for bankruptcy and the tripadvisor ratings lately are very bad. We are holding our breath. There's a lot going on that weekend in San Diego (fireworks everywhere, military parades, etc.).
