Posts: 36 Jun 6 11 2:22 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None Hi All - I placed several bids for Resort, and 4 star ranging from $85 - $100 with no luck. Checked out the list of 3.5 star hotels and decided to try $91 and the bid was accepted. When I saw Verdanza, I immediately got nervous as I've never heard of it. After looking at the web site, it seems nice. Price list at $130 so although the $91 would be a little on the high side, I feel ok about the bid... was hoping for the Embassy Suites but oh well. I took what I thought was a calculated risk but after reading more reviews of the Verdanza, I just might have to use the insurance to cancel and just book with a specific hotel.

If you are referring to Priceline's travel insurance, it won't cover cancelling for that reason. Hopefully you read it before purchasing it because it really isn't very good. Most people who have purchased it were very disappointed. And there is nothing unusual about getting a hotel that no one has previously reported. I think you got this hotel because you bid too high and this hotel has a high Priceline rate so it's unlikely that the Hotel List would have been any different. Look through the past two years posts to see if it has previously come up. That'll take you less than 5 minutes. Please place all of your Priceline bids through our Priceline link. I've just been so spoiled in the past that I got too comfortable and or lazy and should have done more homework/research. I think I might just take the loss on this hotel because one of the reviews I saw talked about roaches on the bed. I hope no one is silly enough to make something like that up but it creeps me out enough to make me just take the loss. Hope all is well with your health these days!

That can happen anywhere and definitely in 4* hotels as well. It's hot in Puerto Rico in the summer and most of the year. Unfortunately, my illness is chronic (neurological). I really enjoy this web site and have been using it for years (just been really lucky I suppose)! I will heed your advice, keep the booking and note that it's just one night pre-cruise and it certainly won't ruin my vacation. My OCD was rearing it's ugly head. LOL ...Ok so I'll keep the reservation and hope for the best. Thanks again and feel better!

Posts: 59 Jun 10 11 12:34 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	The Verdanza used to be the Holiday Inn. I have stayed there at least three times, and have been happy. The rooms are fine, and the staff very friendly and accommodating. There is a good oriental restaurant there too. The pool looks nice, though I did not get a chance to enjoy it. It is easy walking distance to the beach, and there is a large supermarket a couple of minutes walk away. Several good restaurants in the area. I would be happy to stay there again. I think you will be fine, and I hope this eases your worries.

This will be my 12th or 13th cruise (lost count after 10) and I would not let the pre-cruise hotel ruin my trip Sheryl...sorry I need these old legs I have and all the legs in Buffalo are probably stiff and full of arthritis from the cold weather!
