Started flying this route in April every few weeks and the fare has varied from $800-1200. For the upcoming trip, the best fare for a 1-stop is $1025 on UA/CON, which is skyway robbery as KOA-LAX can go for less than $500 rt. BFL only has 2 major airlines so it's their duopoly to pay up or drive 2+ hours from LAX.
First bid was $475 ($550 all-inclusive) and PL countered with $582 and a 4-hr layover on the return. Accepted the deal and it turned out to be only a 3-hr layover. Spending 3-hrs at SFO is definitely worth $475 savings.
