Posts: 312 09/29/11 12:02 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None My $44 bid this morning was rejected (but with CO of + $8). I started a new bid in Cherry Creek at $44 for 2.5* ($42 rejected there yesterday). I got a CO of + $18 for Cherry Creek, added DT Denver at $46 and this hotel came in. Other rejected bids today and yesterday were $48 for 3* and $38 for 2*, both bids in DT/Cherry Creek. Hotel website rate is $149. The Holiday Inn Denver Central is at $99 so I was expecting that would be the hotel to come in at this level/zone. Goes to show something, I'm not sure what - that you never can tell? I started every bid from the link at Sheryl's signature.

It's often difficult to predict what hotel you'll receive through Priceline; that's why we tell people not to try to target particular hotels. Regular rates can be deceiving, as some hotels will lower their posted rates when demand is low, while others prefer to keep rates up and sell the excess rooms discreetly through opaque channels like Priceline. If you're bidding for two zones, I don't recommend that you add the second zone to your first bid and simultaneously raise your bid; this can result in an overbid. It's better to either bid for both zones from the beginning, or start a new bid for the second zone and add the first zone for an extra bid. Also, I strongly recommend against bidding lower than 2.5* unless you research thoroughly and can live with the possible hotels you might get.
