While searching for a rental car on Priceline's retail side with my mobile device I was given an opportunity to use an Express Deal to rent a car. Basically the same as an Express Deal for a hotel, a number of categories of cars, and daily rates, with no initial mention of taxes or fees. When you choose a category the next screen gives you the details of your request, times, places, category and a statement that you will get "one of these rental car brands" and then shows the logos of Hertz, Avis, National, Alamo and Budget. If you hit continue the next screen is "Review and Book" which finally shows the full price including taxes and fees. I wish that I'd seen this earlier. I booked a NYOP car last week for a 1 day/1 way rental in Florida for about $47 which was a good price compared to about $92 for a first tier company on the retail side. Today on the mobile site I found the same Standard car for $38, all prices are including taxes and fees. The price was bouncing around today, I saw it as high as $54 and then back down to $38 right now. Also, the categories of cars available has varied.
