I will start by saying that I have tried to find this information within this site myself but cannot. And I was not certain whether I should start a topic or resurrect the most recent topic that had anything to do with Express Deals as that is extremely old.
I haven't used Priceline in a while and am a bit confused about Express Deals. I can see the purpose of definitely obtaining a reservation at a lesser cost than booking retail. I believe I understand that it is almost always at a price higher than NYOP. I also see mention of identifying a hotel if a value of $400 is met. Is this used just to be certain that it is not an undesired hotel? I know that bidding should be based on the applicable hotel rate for that stay, but how does the 'knowledge' of the available Express Deals play a part in the bidding? I would think that all applicable knowledge would be useful in the bidding and this new knowledge of an Express Deal rate is more knowledge than one had prior to its existence. But what is actually gained by the knowledge of the deal?
I do want to do a bid soon and want to be sure I am up to speed prior to doing so.
