I'd made the reservation a couple weeks before. Tonite I bid up to $50 for 2* in all Sarasota zones---downtown, airport, and east---without luck. Hotwire shows no availability in any of the Sarasota zones. The cheapest room on Orbitz is a Hampton Inn for $89. My fallback---the Motel 6 in Bradenton---is also sold out. The Sarasota area is extremely TIGHT right now.
