I don't have any expertise on bidding for air tickets but can at least answer the bonus question. Hopefully others will help you with your tickets. Bonus money hasn't been available for I think a couple years. It was mostly during the early times of Priceline to give people incentive to try it. At first it was higher amounts like $50 and then gradually trailed off to an occasional $10 and then it vanished. It would be added to your bid amount but wouldn't cost you anything. People were getting fabulous bargains. I assume from the nice job you did on your request that you also read the FAQ area on air tickets. Sometimes I find something I missed elsewhere with www.farecompare.com. I did note that one can only bid every 7 days for airfare, without using the more complex approaches, and also it appears LAX and JFK don't have any of those non-jet alternate airports that lets you have free rebids. I really hope someone with experience in this corridor will step in and help you. When you do bid, it is appreciated if you would start at www.amazing-bargains.com and use that to link to Priceline. Bidding ForTravel gets a little funding if you do that. And good luck. Romelle

The moderators had a wealth of information and were extremely helpful in their respective areas. There is still some technical coverage, but otherwise it is just people helping people. Still lots of really useful information, but probably doesn't run as smoothly and efficiently as it used to. I for one will keep looking here when I'm planning a trip, try to answer posts for which I feel even partially qualified, and report results and review places. If enough others also do, this board will tend to continue to be useful. Romelle

I know my son still finds bidding useful for last minute European trips, but we have to come out of MSP and Northwest really controls the market here. He usually wins on USAir. But Icelandic often will have really good specials that beat what he could do via bidding. People still are successfully bidding on auto rentals too, though. Romelle
