Danville is halfway between Scranton and Harrisburg. We stayed there because it's close to Knoebel's Groves, an old-time amusement park that (to us) has all the magic that Disney tries for, without the feeling that they're trying too hard. Free admission, free parking, good food at reasonable prices, lots of shade trees, great staff attitude, and two of the best wooden roller coasters anywhere (for $2 a ride!).
The Quality Inn is the newest and probably the nicest hotel in Danville. Our room was as good as some 3* we've stayed in. Check-in was smooth; we got a non-smoking king, with no mention of PL. Room was clean and well-equipped; bed was nice and firm.
We were given vouchers for breakfast in the adjoining restaurant. During the week they're good for one egg, bacon or sausage, juice and coffee (a deal). On weekends they're good for $3 off the buffet, making it $3.95.
At the $49 we paid, this place was a good value. If we had to pay full rate ($75-$100), we'd probably stay at a B&B near the park.
