Hotel is nicely located. Right next door to convention center and just 1 block from inner harbor. Camden Yards, Ravens stadium and MARC train to DC are all within 5 minutes by foot.
Staff is courteous and efficient. Manager called 5 minutes after I checked-in to ask if everything is to my satisfaction. And every request from room service to extra blanket was delivered in 20 minutes or less.
As for the room itself. While it ain't going to blow you away with its luxury, it is clean and on par with most 3 stars. Bathroom is not as luxurious as I would like, but does offer plenty of toiletries and towels. And the water pressure is strong and steady, which to me is very important.
Despite all these positives, the hotel has one major over-riding flaw that makes it unacceptable to me. The sound insulation in the room is non-existent. I can hear every word said by my neighbours as if they are right next to me, and that makes it very hard for me to get a good night's sleep. Anytime someone flushes the toilet, or turns on the TV, or speaks into a cell phone, you will hear it loud and clear. One couple apparently didn't realize this and was doing the nasty thing in their room at 2 a.m, and within minutes another guest was pounding on their door telling them to shut up. It is one of the most funny yet disturbing things I have ever experienced in a hotel.
In conclusion, I can't receoomend this hotel to others. The most basic function of a hotel is a place of sleep, and if you can't do that, then it has failed its mission. It is a real shame, for were it not for the poor insulation, this could very well be the best 3 star in Inner Harbor.
