This hotel is not quite a Hyatt or Sheraton, but certainly comfortable and clean. It is quiet and I have a beautiful view of the Dallas skyline. At $35 and with free airport transportation, I would be happy with this win anytime.

Posts: 50 02/26/05 11:47 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I won this hotel on a $35 bid for a Sun/Mon night stay. I was given a non-smoking king room on the top (15th) floor. Check-in was smooth and pleasant with no mention of PL; only that my room was pre-paid. Parking is free and plentiful There was sign at the registration desk explaining that the business center was temporarily closed for renovation and to inquire at the front desk for available services. A PC with internet was set up to the right of the registration desk for guests' convenience. They offer airport shuttle and service within 5 mile radius. The room was spacious, clean and equipped with a desk , 2 phones, alarm clock , coffee maker, chair and ottoman, TV with cable, hair dryer and hookup for high speed internet. The carpet , bedding and furnishings appeared to be fairly new. No newspaper was delivered on Sun, but the Dallas Morning News arrived at my door on Mon. My room faced the highway and although I could sometimes hear planes landing, it wasn't loud enough to bother me. The small rooftop pool would be a welcome retreat in warmer weather. I ate lunch at the bar on Sun. Prices were reasonable and the food was good (the potato chips are homemade). Service seemed a bit slow though. A 24 hr Denny's across the street seemed to be the only other restaurant within walking distance. Overall, this hotel was a great deal and I would definitely stay there again.

The restaraunts are good, but if you plan to stay more than two nights, rent a car - there is nothing nearby. The service was very good. You can tell that they want to please. The rooftop pool was wonderful late in the afternoon. At that time of day, planes will fly right over the hotel on approach. It is neat when you are up there, but fortunately they did not do that at night.

Posts: 7 06/19/05 9:56 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	We booked 2 rooms for June 17-19 (Father's Day weekend) as we were meeting my parents mid-way to do a "kid swap" so one of our children could spend a week w/grandma & pa. We won the room for $35/night about 14 days in advance on Priceline. Total bill for two rooms, 2 nights was $ 170 + change. The rooms were definitely 3 star in my opinion. Clean and comfortable enough, but nothing luxurious. The bedspreads were solid hunter green and could stand some updating. The A/C unit ran all night long and was a bit loud but worked well and the room was freezing (our choice). The only downer was a middle-of-the-night kitchen fire which caused the hotel to be evacuated from 1:30 a.m. early Sat morning through about 4:00 a.m. The fire was contained but the hotel had a lingering smoke smell the remainder of the visit (lobby/ground floor only, rooms not affected). There was no hot kitchen service aftewards, but we were able to have a snack the following night of ice-cream and cake (from a cooler in the sports bar). You might want to be slightly wary only because of the smoke smell - they expected the kitchen to be restored in 1-2 weeks but the lingering smell of smoke may last longer than that.

I was highly disappointed with this property and felt it did not deserve the rating it received from Priceline and from previous guests here. The rooms need serious renovating, very worn and drab. The shuttle took FOREVER to get us to the hotel, so we decided to skip it in the morning and opt for a taxi since we had a 6am flight. I could not believe that the lobby doors aren't automatic. Might seem like I'm nitpicking, but try opening a door outwards while you have several pieces of luggage and no bellmen in sight. Not the worst experience (see my Sheraton Gateway LAX review for THAT one ), but in my opinion should only receive at most 2.5 stars.

Rooms are spacious complete with Westin Heavenly Beds. Flat panel TVs. Fabulous food in the restaurant and bar. Starbucks makes it even better!! At $52 per night was an absolute bargain!!! Enjoyed the pool and the simple evening cheese platter offered in the lobby. The room was fairly dark due to the strongly tinted windows, even in the daytime. The room was also on the small side with 2 double beds. The pool and whirlpool were fantastic. No comment at check-in except that the room was "prepaid". Shuttle service was excellent. Leaves hotel on the hour and the half-hour. Paid directly to company for internet service to avoid any additional taxes on my room bill. Don't really know if it made a difference. The cost was just under $11/24 hours. Would recommend and would stay there again. Went to Denny's across the road. Service was OK. Happy trials!

Posts: 200 06/22/12 11:10 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	This hotel has some age to it but is still a 4* property, room is large, with all the upgrade immenities as well as the std Westin Heavenly Bed, Roof top Pool, restaurant has very reasonable prices. I had a chicken ceasar salad for $11. not bad. room had 2 leather chairs, desk, large dresser, Internet is an additional fee. No mention of PL just that the room was prepaid. was asked if i wanted a high or low floor and 2 queens or a king bed. Free parking or valet for $8... i paid $57....good value

Posts: 200 09/23/12 6:27 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I have staid here several times using my PL bids...last time here they tried to tell me that parking would be $8 mandatory...I informed them that wont work with me....and they waived it ....I will try to clarify the fee tonight when i check in....In the past the $8 was for valet only....Last week when i stayed there i was told everybody pays $8... Not me!
