Our $55 bid got us this charming boutique hotel with a huge room overlooking the Alamo.
Understated elegance describes the lobby and guest rooms with muted color and low lighting. The staff excelled in courtesy and efficiency though I would like to have heard more on the history of the exquisite building.
The in room coffee was Starbucks and the amenities, Aveda.
The only minor problems: The TV control wouldn't work from the bed-too far away. Hot water took a long time to come-again, too far away. The AC seemed to have a mind of its own.
In the free magazine, FIESTA, you'll find a coupon for their restaurant, ORO, for a "buy one, get one free" meal. This is not to be missed for something special.
Also, nearby is the German deli, Schilo's, where for around $5 you get a breakfast to last till dinner. Don't miss the biscuits!
Other hotel details can be found at their website.
