The Hyatt charges a $10 resort fee per night to cover coffemaker, newspaper, 1-800 calls, in-room safe, etc. There was no energy surcharge.
I requested a room on a high floor with a lake view. I figured they would not give it to me since i was only paying $59/night (with bonus money). To my surprise, they said sure. I stayed on the next to the top floor (8th I believe) with a view of the lake.
The room included the following:
King Bed
Desk
Chair and Ottoman
Safe
25" or 27" TV
Nice quality tolietries including shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shower gel (all in big squeeze containers), 2 bath robes, shower cap, sewing kit.
Safe
Two telephones
The hotel has two pools, a hottub, workout room, full spa, waterslide, beach, beach and bike rentals, multiple restaurants, and a casino. There were quite a few kids at the pool. The lower pool is for kids, so it keeps them mostly out of the 'adult' pool. Drink service and a small, casual dining area is available at the pool. Valet parking and self parking are available. Shuttle to a shopping mall runs from the Hyatt to the strip. I had a rental car, so I didn't use the shuttle. Actually, I didn't go to the strip at all since it was so far away. I also didn't try any of the restaurants at the resort.
Casino was fairly small, but had a good variety. $1 chip Single 0 Roulette ($5 minimum), $5 craps with 2x odds, $5 blackjack, a couple other table games that I did not notice, and lots of slots. When I checked in I received a booklet that include several coupons for match play, slot bonus money, double blackjack payout, etc.
If you are into gambling, there are many 'locals' casino's within 15 minutes. You are close to The Reserve, Sunset Station, and Sams Town.
The Hyatt had a feel of a Palm Springs resort with a casino. Did not feel like Las Vegas at all.
If you are looking to go to Las Vegas to enjoy the Strip, this is NOT the place to stay. The resort was very nice and a great deal, but too far from the strip. If you are looking for a desert vacation, with some gambling, and don't care for 'the strip', this would be a great place to stay! Resort is very clost to Lake Mead and fairly close to Hoover Dam. If you are thinking of visiting these areas, this would be a great place to stay.
