Currently this hotel is owned by the Kimpton group (which also has the 5th Avenue Suites Hotel). It was renovated in 2000. It is located right on SW Broadway, 2-3 blocks north of Pioneer Courthouse Square. We had two rooms, one double and one king. They double room was a little nicer, facing Broadway. The other was a handicapped room, which had tattered robes and a smaller bathroom. Faced the rooftop in center of hotel. I did not fuss about the handicap room as the hotel stay was a gift for my sisterinlaw and she had the nicer room. We stayed earlier this year at the 5th Ave Suites and I thought it was a touch higher in quality. Also have seen the Westin and Embassy downtown and their rooms are a bit nicer. All those are newer hotels. I'd rate it a 3.5*, comparing it to the other 4* downtown choices. Service was fine. Valet was $22 with in/out. They will bring you the WSJ and NYT but you must ASK for it the day before. No mention of PL.
