Prior to going, I had read on this website that the hotel looked like a warzone due to the ongoing construction. I wasn't really excited about being in the middle of all that! While there is construction going on, the hotel is still very nice, and we loved our time there. The rooms are a little on the small size, but they are so attractive and comfortable. The beds are wonderful! The pool was open except for two mornings from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. while they did some repair work on the surfacing around the pool. They are building a new convention area, and when it is completed, they will use the old convention area for new spa facilities (hopefully complete by Feb. 2002), which will make the hotel even nicer. Our time here was great. Our favorite restaurants in the area were Pairs (Japanese with a California flair) and Bistro Don Giovanni. If you've booked a room here through Priceline, go with realistic expectations, keep in mind the great deal you got, and have a great time! Last Edited By: Sheryl 08/31/12 12:08 AM. Edited 1 time.

Posts: 3 07/19/01 2:27 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I too went to this hotel from 7/13/01-7/16/01. I thought the hotel was great, especially for the price $50/night + $5 bonus. The pool is quite an odd shape, but it works, and the hot tub is a great way to wind down after a day of dilligent wine tasting. The concierge was friendly and helped us plan our days, the rooms were large, with a large overstuffed chair and a desk with an office chair, high speed internet access (for a fee) and a large TV. I was very happy with the room and the facilities and would certainly stay here again. It was far better than the Travelodge and Best Western we were considering at more than twice the price. -Tslugmo

Upon our early check-in, the staff asked if I would prefer a non-smoking or smoking room, then if I wanted 2 Double Beds or a single King size bed. Very helpful and professional air in in directing us to the most convenient place to park that would be most accessible to the room. Room itself was lovely, spacious, and clean. There was a huge desk w/spinny office chair with optional high speed connection (24 hours for $9.95) and phone, and another stuffed sofa with a small round table. There was another phone next to the bed. Bed itself was clean and proved that this Marriot was not stingy with the bedspread--a very nice feather comforter that was so warm no heater was necessary (I get easily cold at night)--I even pulled off the heavy blanket that was on top of it. Has a balcony. TV had the pay per view movies and a N64. The bathroom was large and clean with an abnormal abundance of towels considering the room was probably meant for just two people, the coffee maker had your choice of coffee or tea, and the conditioner/shampoo/lotion were Neutrogena products and nice to use. Although the hotel was not in the thick of wineries, it was an easy drive to them, just go out and get on the main 29. The location was good after a day of tasting wine. If you bought your wines, breads, and cheeses and forgot to pick something else up like apples, chocolates, or just feel like drinking beer, there is a large local market in walking distance across the street and also a 7-11 even closer. If you also happened to realize that there was not a wine bottle opener in the room ( like us ), although they do provide you with two nice wine glasses, the staff is more than willing to bring one up to your room. I called and asked if there was a wine bottle opener in the room, the lady on the other end said no and she would bring one up to us immediately after making sure there was nothing else she could do for us. Sure enough a minute later came a knock on our door and we gave her a small tip in exchange. Lovely hotel, wonderful staff. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to anyone else going to wine country.

Posts: 47 03/18/03 11:19 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	We stayed here last year in April, the hotel was a lot better than we were expecting. Wonderful summer weight down comforters. We came in from a day of wine tasting to find that the hotel also has a free wine tasting with cheese in the evenings. We are going back this April and if we do not stay in a comp facility at a vineyard we will again be bidding and hoping for this hotel.

Posts: 244 08/12/03 1:38 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Nice hotel with a good pool that doesn't close until 11pm, so I would avoid the rooms surrounding it. Beds were very comfortable and everyone that worked in the hotel was exceedingly nice. The only issue that we had was that the temperature of the shower would change from extremely hot to very cold during the course of the shower. Rich

Posts: 29 05/24/04 11:10 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Stayed here Friday night. Staff was very nice and we got our requested 2 beds, non-smoking room. It was facing the parking lot. Room has nice decor, beautiful bathroom, comfortable beds, and robes in the closet. We went the pool in the evening and was disappointed it was not heated enough, really too cold to swim so we had to go to the jacuzzi. After that we ordered room service. The food was plentiful and tasty, it was very reasonable. The server said he dropped the soup or something (that came with the sandwich) and would bring it. Well I waited 45 minutes and then called about it. She said she would let them know and it still didn't come. When I checked out I let them know I never got the soup and they immediately comped the whole meal. So for $65 for the night we got the hotel plus free dinner! What was interesting was that a lady checking out was asking about the price for her room since she had gotten a queen bed for her stay instead of a king. They were saying the price is $229 and I think she was asking for some kind of discount. The hotel staff was saying most of their customers use Priceline for the cheapest rates, like around $70. The lady had to write it (PL) down. Funny that the hotel would actually tell people about PL.

We booked two rooms. The hotel staff was very accommodating. They gave us connecting rooms with out blinking even though we booked via Priceline. The rooms were typical Marriott. The hotel is brand new so there are no signs of wear. It was clean, comfortable and in a fine location. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I had called ahead and asked for 2 rooms with 2 beds and non-smoking and the third one non-smoking their choice. We were able to check in early at 1pm. The hotel was very nice. Nice grounds and no attitude. We received the type of room requested. The only problem was we were in the room getting ready to leave when another couple walked in using a key. They had given our room away. I called the front desk and they said they would give us another room later. We moved our stuff to our friend's room. When we came back that night and checked in our new room was ready and had a fruit and chocolate plate and a bottle of wine. They handled the mishap well and gave us something without asking. Very classy.

Nice two level work desk, and comfy chair with a small side table. The staff was friendly and helpful, no mention of Priceline, just that the reservation was "prepaid". Never was there for the wine tasting. Good location 10 minutes or so from downtown, and right across the highway from a small shopping center with a Target and Trader Joe's. Further down the street is a Safeway and Albertsons (Albertsons and Burger King have discount coupons for Marine World, 25 min up the road in Vallejo) When you get off the freeway, be aware that the street is called "Redwood" one direction, and "Trances" the other way, so it is easy to make a wrong turn. All in all, a great stay!

Posts: 21 05/23/05 1:44 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My husband and I stayed here last weekend and thought it was a nice hotel and an incredible deal, too at $60 per night (their Web site offered it at $249 per night). No mention of Priceline at check-in, just that we were "prepaid via the internet" and asked if we wanted a standard queen room. I said a king room would be fine. She not only gave us a king room, but one with a balcony facing the courtyard/pool area. It was a very nice room. The bed was really comfortable, but the shower ran hot and cold. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, esp. at the Priceline price!

They honored our requests for 2 rooms with 2 beds, quiet area but I did send my sister to check us in early. They were sold out on 5/26/07. They have a nice breakfast buffet. It's across the freeway from Trader Joe's. They had a business center with free internet use. My sister's only complaint is the maids talking outside loudly early in the morning.

It was fine for $135 but had I paid the price listed on their web site I would have been really upset. The location is right next to highway 29 in Napa which means some traffic noise. The property is really showing its age and the carpet/wallpaper in public areas definitely needs updating. The room was nice and large and did have a balcony which was shared with the room next door? Isn't that odd? We never spent anytime out there because it just faced a parking lot and the hotel right next door. The grounds were nothing special. There was a pool but it was not heated and on the second day, the hot tub was "out of order". There were some renovations going on... New beds were being put in the rooms (ours came the day we were checking out) and they were painting the outside walls of the hotel (once when I looked out on our balcony there was a painter there!) Internet costs $5.00 a day. I think Priceline needs to downgrade this to a 3 1/2 star...
